Love in action !

Your imagination is set to no limits except your own creative thinking!

Be creative and send us your short film! If you could, what would you do for your friends, family, teachers or boss? Or the tram driver?

Or do you know someone in your neighbourhood who is changing things or doing something good for someone and would like to tell us about it?

Surprise us with your idea, make your own film and win a prize!

This invitation is addressed to young visionaries aged 12 to 17 and 18 to 25 who are living in Switzerland, encouraging them to capture the essence of compassion – “Love in Action” – on film. Whether individually or in groups, through your short film you create simple, positive changes in your surroundings – in our world.

From 15th January 2026 until Friday, 14th August 2026, participants can submit short films of up to 5 minutes in length. The competition encourages everyone to explore how simple acts of kindness can bring about meaningful impact.

In celebration of these heartfelt narratives, the competition offers a grand prize of CHF 1’000 for the 1st place and CHF 500 for the 2nd place for each age category.

Free film workshop with filmkids.ch

As soon as you register for the film competition, you are invited to one of the two filmkids.ch workshops in Zurich:

All participants of the workshop are automatically entered into a draw to win a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE smartphone for each workshop, provided by Swisscom (Samsung Galaxy S24 FE – Smartphones | Swisscom).

In this workshop, you will receive an introduction to storytelling and filmmaking. Whether you already have an idea, are still thinking about it, or have a clear story in mind – this workshop will show you, in a practical and hands-on way, how to develop and bring to life a compelling film story. A professional filmmaker will lead the workshop and answer all your questions. No previous experience is required. Your challenge

Your task is to create a short film of up to 5 minutes that captures the very essence of compassion. Whether it is the story of an individual, a community initiative, or an innovative project, your film should touch hearts and inspire others to act with compassion.

Entry Requirements

Age	12 – 17 years (cat 1) 18 – 25 years (cat 2)
Residency	Only for individuals residing in Switzerland
Film Length	maximum 5 minutes
Call for entries start	15th January 2026
Closing date for entries	Friday, 14th August 2026

Prizes that will boost your motivation

1st place	CHF 1’000
2nd place	CHF 500

On Friday, 28 August 2026, the nominated films will be announced prominently. All participants will be informed by email on that day. The two best nominated films from each age category will be invited to the premiere on 5 September 2026 at Restaurant Razzia in Zurich. If your film is nominated, please already reserve this evening.

The winning films and all nominated films will be published on the website www.loveaction.ch under “BEST OF 2026”.

Nominations

On August 22, 2025, the films up for nomination will be featured prominently on this site.

Premiere

The two best nominated films will be premiered on 5 September 2026 as part of the traditional event of the Zariya Foundation, the “United Nations International Charity Day”, held in memory of Mother Teresa, at Restaurant Razzia in Zurich. The audience will choose the winning films at the event.

To submit your film, please follow these guidelines:

The films must be submitted in digital form on the Vimeo platform (according to the checklist) by 14 August 2026, and a copy must be sent to info@loveAction.ch.
