Rules of entry

Eligibility

Age Requirement
Participants must be between 12 and 17, or 18 and 25 years old at the time of submission.
Residence
Open exclusively to individuals residing in Switzerland.
Eligibility
Entries may be submitted by individual filmmakers or teams. For team submissions, the team leader must meet all eligibility criteria, and the prize money will be given to the team leader for distribution among team members.

Film Submission Guidelines

Theme
All films must address the theme “Love in Action”. They may focus on personal everyday stories, helpful actions by “silent heroes” in your environment, community initiatives, or other topics (whether a person or an organisation). Your story should touch, inspire and motivate others to reflect and act with compassion, respect and love.
Length
Films must be no longer than 5 minutes, including credits.
Competition start date
The competition officially opens on 15 January 2026.
Submission deadline
All entries must be submitted by 14 August 2026, 23:59 (CET).
Registration
Participants must create an account in order to submit their film.

Technical Guidelines

Film submission
The submission form must include a short summary and the Vimeo link. Make sure the link is correct and that the video is accessible and shareable. The link must remain active, and the video must be downloadable until the results are announced.
Submission format and Vimeo upload
All films must be uploaded to Vimeo.
Accepted Vimeo formats
According to Vimeo requirements, your film must be in MP4, MOV, or AVI format for compatibility and quality.
Visibility settings
Ensure your Vimeo video visibility is set to “Hidden”, keeping your submission exclusive to the competition.
Video title
Name your film on Vimeo as follows: [your full name] – [film title] – LoveAction 2026.
Enable downloads
Activate the “Allow downloads” option. This allows organisers and jury members to download and review your film without technical issues.
Language
All languages are accepted, including films without dialogue, with or without subtitles.
Originality
Entries must be the participant’s original work and must not infringe third‑party rights. Copyrighted material may not be used unless licensed or falling under “Fair Use”.
Compliance
Films containing culturally sensitive, political or religiously motivated themes are excluded. No obscene, defamatory, or offensive material is allowed. All films must be suitable for a general audience.

General terms

Rights
Participants retain ownership of their films. By entering, they grant the Zariya Foundation and its partners a non‑exclusive right to screen, broadcast and promote the films for competition purposes and related activities, without compensation.
Data Protection
Personal data collected will be used solely for competition administration and will not be shared with third parties without consent.
Non‑compliance
Failure to follow these rules may result in disqualification. The Zariya Foundation reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not meet the requirements.

Checklist for Submission

  • Make sure your film is in one of the formats accepted by Vimeo (MP4, MOV or AVI).
  • Upload your film to Vimeo and set the video visibility to “Hidden.”
  • Enable the “Allow downloads” option for your Vimeo video.
  • Title your film on Vimeo as follows so it can be easily identified:[your full name] – [film title] – LoveAction 2026.
  • Add the Vimeo link to your film in the submission form to ensure it is accessible for the jury’s viewing.
