Do I need to be professional to make and submit a video?

No, the competition is open to anyone between 12 and 25 who lives in Switzerland. You must use any basic knowledge to film, edit, and present a film as well as you can.

Is there a submission fee for entering the contest?

No fee is required to enter the Swiss Compassion Short Film Competition. We welcome all eligible participants to share their interpretations of compassion at no cost.

What prizes are offered to the winners?

The winners in each age category will receive the ‘Jury Prize’ of CHF 1,000 for the first place. The 2nd place winners receive CHF 500.

How can I submit my short film?

To submit your film, first upload it to Vimeo, ensuring the video is set to “Hidden” and the “Allow downloads” option is enabled. Then, include the Vimeo link in your application form and send it to shortfilm@zariyafoundation.org by the competition deadline.

What are the film selection criteria?

The selection criteria focus on the film’s ability to convey “Love in Action”—illustrating compassion through impactful deeds by individuals or groups. Judging will be based on the film’s emotional impact, storytelling, and clarity in communicating its message of compassion.

When is the deadline for submitting a film?

All films must be submitted by June 30, 2025. To be considered for the competition, ensure your submission as soon as possible before this date.
